Spring Cleaning: A Pranayama Workshop

Yoga is based on the flow of energy, or life force, and Pranayama, yogic breathing, is one of the most powerful tools for working with this energy, or prana.

By consciously controlling the breath we can enhance the flow of energy in the body, calm the nervous system, release deep seeded tensions, cultivate deeper awareness of the body and invite greater mental clarity.

Practicing pranayama can help heighten your own healing potential, deepen your asana practice, and prepare you for meditation.

In this workshop we will:

  • Practice various breathing techniques such as Dirgha, Ujayi,
    Kapalabhati, Nadi Shodana/Anuloma Vuloma, and Aum pranayamas.
  • Discuss basic yoga philosophy and anatomy of pranayama.
  • Discuss when to use different pranayama.
  • Incorporate pranayama into a short asana practice.
    $35 in advance, $40 day of.
    *This class will be available both livestream via Zoom and limited, in- person, socially distanced. (vaccination reccomended.)
    *Some yoga experience recommended.
